Base B1001B K-Road TOP S3 HRO CI HI SRC Work Boot

Base B1001B K-Road TOP is the high-cut winter boot model from the Kaptiv series. Combining the full protection profile of the B1000B K-Road shoe with a high-cut boot structure, the K-Road TOP is designed for heavy outdoor conditions in all four seasons with its S3 safety class, CI (−17°C cold insulation), HI (hot surface heat insulation), and HRO (300°C sole heat resistance) codes. With its lightweight aluminum toe cap, waterproof nubuck leather upper, and patented i-daptive® smart sole technology, it offers superior comfort and protection to construction site and heavy industry workers.

Key Features

High-Cut Boot Structure — Ankle and Foot Protection

The primary difference separating the K-Road TOP from the B1000B shoe is its high-cut boot design, extending above the ankle. This structure prevents external elements such as mud, water, and debris from entering the boot while significantly reducing the risk of ankle twists and sprains. It provides superior protection for the lower extremities in challenging terrain, construction sites, and outdoor work environments.

S3 Safety Class — Full Outdoor Protection Package

The S3 class combines 200 Joules impact and 15 kN compression resistance, a waterproof upper, a strip-based puncture resistance, and a closed heel into a single standard. It offers much more comprehensive basic protection compared to S1P and S1PS models for working conditions where outdoor risks such as wet ground, mud, and rain are constantly present.

CI — −17°C Cold Insulation

The cold insulation sole, compliant with EN ISO 20345 CI standard, prevents the transmission of cold from the ground to the foot down to −17°C. It actively protects foot health and circulation in environments requiring long periods of standing in sub-zero temperatures, such as cold storage facilities, winter construction sites, and outdoor work.

HI — Heat Insulation from Hot Surfaces

The HI code limits the transmission of heat from hot surfaces to the foot. The presence of both CI and HI codes means that the K-Road TOP provides protection in both freezing cold and hot ground conditions; this feature offers a critical advantage in environments with high temperature variability, such as metallurgy, foundry, and power plants.

HRO — 300°C Heat Resistant Sole

The dual-density PU/HRO rubber sole offers 1 minute of contact resistance up to 300°C, maintaining sole integrity in scenarios of momentary contact with hot surfaces. It eliminates the risk of the sole material melting or sticking in welding, foundry, and energy facilities.

Aluminum Toe Cap — Lightweight and Non-Heat Conductive

The aluminum toe cap, resistant to 200 Joules of impact and 15 kN of compression load, is 50% lighter than steel alternatives and non-heat conductive. There is no risk of cold toes in cold environments; this feature is particularly important in CI-coded winter boot models. The lightness advantage balances the additional weight inherent in the high-cut boot structure.

Waterproof Nubuck Leather Upper

The nubuck leather upper, meeting the S3 class's waterproof standard, permanently blocks external moisture, splashing water, and mud. The leather material also provides long-term durability and abrasion resistance; it is much more suitable for heavy outdoor conditions compared to textile-upper models.

i-daptive® Smart Sole Technology

A patented midsole system that senses the foot's ground force, absorbs impact energy proportionally, and returns accumulated energy in walking rhythm. It significantly reduces joint and muscle fatigue during long shifts on uneven terrain and hard surfaces; it bears the inherent extra weight of the boot structure without compromising comfort.

Dry'n Air Active Air Circulation & SmellStop Lining

The Dry'n Air system, which works with a network of channels and holes in the insole, pushes air forward with each step's heel pressure; humid and warm air is expelled while fresh air is drawn in. This system prevents internal moisture buildup in the waterproof boot structure, maintaining foot comfort during long winter shifts. The SmellStop antibacterial lining supports hygiene with a second layer.

SRC — Certified Slip Resistance on Dual Surfaces

SRC slip resistance certification, tested on both ceramic and steel surfaces according to EN ISO 13287 standard, ensures secure grip on wet, icy, and muddy surfaces. Ground slip resistance is a primary risk factor in winter and outdoor conditions, and SRC confirms this need with independent laboratory tests.

Suitable for Which Industries?

Base B1001B K-Road TOP is suitable for construction and outdoor sites (S3 + boot structure + CI winter protection), cold storage and logistics (CI −17°C), metallurgy and foundry (HRO + HI), welding and ironwork, shipyards and bridge-road construction, power plants and petrochemical facilities, agriculture and mining, and all outdoor personnel working in winter conditions. With ankle support even in challenging terrain and muddy environments, the K-Road TOP offers a distinct advantage over shoe models.

What is the Difference Between K-Road TOP and K-Road Shoe?

B1000B K-Road and B1001B K-Road TOP share the same protection profile (S3 HRO CI HI SRC) and material structure. The fundamental difference is in the design: while the K-Road is a classic shoe form that ends at the ankle, the K-Road TOP's high-cut boot structure, extending above the ankle, reduces the risk of ankle twists and sprains, and also creates an additional barrier against mud and water ingress. For challenging terrain, long-term outdoor, and winter construction site conditions, the K-Road TOP is preferred; for more mobile indoor or light outdoor work, the K-Road shoe is sufficient.
